New Covid-19 death recorded in Madagascar
The Big Island has just recorded its seventh death linked to Covid-19. Indeed, a pregnant woman died on the premises of the District Hospital Reference Center (CHRD), in Anosiavaratra. The baby was saved and is currently in good health.
According to the explanations of Professor Vololontiana today on the national channel TVM, the patient had had trouble breathing. Doctors had to have a cesarean to save the baby.
This death is in addition to the last 6 that have occurred in Madagascar since last month.
Alarming figures
In addition with the number of deaths which has increased, the numbers of cases are constantly increasing in the Big Island. The latter seem more and more alarming, with a trend of around 100 cases every two days for a week now.
Today, 49 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Madagascar, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 957 since the start of the epidemic.
Among these new cases, 28 are located in Toamasina, 4 new cases are located in Antananarivo and 1 case is located in Manjakandriana. The location of the 16 cases detected by the Charles Mérieux infectious disease center has not been communicated
5 cases of recovery were also recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries to 200.
