88 young Malagasy are participating in the National youth summit in Antananarivo, from Monday 11 to Friday 15 December 2017. Leaders in their respective communities, these young Malagasy are the spokesman of the Malagasy youth to their needs and the problems they are facing to in their society.

44 young women and 44 young men are participating in the National youth summit held in the capital since yesterday in Andrainarivo. An initiative taken by the non-governmental organization Youth First following the National Girls’ Summit held in 2015. Thus, 88 young Malagasy, including 4 young people per region (1) between 14 and 30 years old as required by the National youth policy, have been rigorously selected following a call for tenders and a selection. Presenting themselves as spokespersons for Malagasy youth, these young people, leaders in their respective communities, will report the problems they face in these communities, and discuss them. They will analyze public policy to see if it meets the needs of young Malagasy, and propose solutions to improve this policy if it does not correspond, as explained Najaina Tovohasimbavaka, President of the NGO Youth First. Three main points will be highlighted at the Summit: education, entrepreneurship, good governance and public policy.

« The goal is to bring out the realities that young Malagasy people live in different regions. An advocacy will be constituted by the proposed solutions and will be presented to the state authorities at the round table next Thursday, « continues the president.
Following the plea, a roadmap will be concluded next Friday at the end of the Summit, based on programs that will be adapted for each region of the Big Island. These projects will have to be carried out in each region of origin of the participants of the summit, under the supervision of the latter.
